How it works
The wizard walks you step by step; each choice applies effort and pricing rules against a catalog maintained by Ab4cus. In practice you define:
- Your industry (adjusts complexity and sector context).
- Platforms and product type: web, mobile app, PWA, desktop, games, or combinations.
- Branding and wireframe / visual definition level.
- Product version (for example MVP vs. a fuller release).
- Screen scope per platform.
- Additional capabilities from the catalog.
- Whether an admin panel is required.
- API and third-party integrations.
- Analytics requirements.
- Post-launch support level.
- Contact details and submission of the summary when applicable.
You get a USD amount and an estimated timeline. The tool does not replace scope sign-off or a binding commercial offer, but it does provide structured, comparable guidance.
Technology
The public web client is built with React, TypeScript, and Vite. Prices, durations, and options are served through a REST API on Node.js (Express) and stored in MongoDB: both the catalog that powers the calculator and saved quotes share that data so what you see stays aligned with what the team can administer.
Keeping prices current and AI (LLMs)

To avoid stale numbers, we periodically review effort and cost models and use large language models (LLMs) to help synthesize public trends, platform documentation, and market references. Suggested adjustments are validated by people before they go live in the catalog: the app you use does not call an LLM on every click, but it benefits from maintenance cycles where AI speeds up research and consistency. The factors you see are therefore closer to current reality than a never-updated static index.
